The Racial Justice Act gives California defense attorneys an unprecedented avenue to challenge racially discriminatory charging, convictions, and sentences. But using it effectively demands the ability to identify bias, approaching statistics without fear, working with data, and understanding the evolving body of case law.
This training assembles the trial practitioners and data scientists who are actually winning RJA motions in court right now — from Los Angeles to Orange County to San Diego to the Bay Area. Over five focused sessions, they will share what is working, what is not, and how to build a winning claim from scratch.
Whether you have never filed an RJA motion, you are litigating one now, or you are looking for claims in all of your cases now, this series delivers the practice tools you will need to make and win an RJA motion.
